EMU SPECIAL TRAINS BETWEEN HOWRAH AND MIDNAPUR TO CLEAR EXTRA RUSH ON THE OCCASION OF URS FESTIVAL


South Eastern Railway will run EMU special trains between Howrah and Midnapur on 16th, 17th & 18th February, 2013 to clear extra rush of passengers to Midnapur on the occasion of URS festival of Maulana Syed Shah Murshed Ali al Qadri Pir Saheb which is held in Jora Masjid of Midnapur each year.

The decision to run special EMU local trains was taken by Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways when a group of locals met him and requested him for the same while he was returning back to Kolkata after inaugurating the New Station Building of Joychandipahar station on 4th Feb.2013

Altogether four pairs of Howrah-Midnapur EMU Special Trains will run to clear the extra rush of passengers. Out of four pairs, one pair will run on 16th February, two pairs will run on 17th February and one more pair will run on 18th February.All the four pairs of special trains will stop at all stations enroute.

Special Train on 16.02.2013 (1 pair)
The special train (No 08027) leaving Howrah at 07.50 a.m. will arrive Midnapur at 11.05 a.m. In the return direction, the special train (No. 08028) will leave Midnapur at 12.15 p.m. arriving Howrah at 3.45 p.m.

Special Trains on 17.02.2013 (2 pairs)
The special train (No.08019) leaving Howrah at 10.15 a.m. will arrive Midnapur at 1.25 p.m.In the return direction, the Special (No.08020) will leave Midnapur at 1.35 p.m. and will reach Howrah at 5 p.m.

The Special train (No.08023) will leave Howrah at 12.55 p.m. and will arrive Midnapur at 4.20 p.m.In the opposite direction, the special (No.08024) will depart Midnapur at 4.30 p.m. arriving Howrah at 7.55 p.m.

Special Train on 18.02.2013 (1 pair)

The Special train (No.08025) will leave Howrah at 7.50 a.m. reaching Midnapur at 11.05 a.m.In the return trip, the Special(No.08026) will leave Midnapur at 12.15 p.m. arriving Howrah at 3.45 p.m.

It is expected that the running of these special trains will not only be beneficial for a large number of pilgrims visiting the URS at Midnapur but also be a meeting ground for Indian and Bangladeshi pilgrims who visit the URS, thus furthering the cultural ties between the two countries.
