Train.No.22856 Tirupati – Kolkata Santragachi Superfast Express scheduled to depart Tirupati at 19 55 hrs today i.e., 14th October, 2013 is cancelled due to cancellation of its pairing train.
Train.No.22855 Kolkata Santragachi - Tirupati Superfast Express scheduled to depart Santragachi at 16 05 hrs o­n 13th October, 2013 is cancelled.
II.Trains Diverted:-

       1.  Train.No.12245 Howrah-Yesvantpur Duronto Express which is expected to arrive Ballarshah at  11 30 hrs o­n 14th Oct, 2013 is diverted to run via., Ballarshah, Kazipet, Secunderabad, Guntakal, Kallur, Dharmavaram.

III.Trains Rescheduled:-

1. Train No. 12840 Chennai Central – Howrah Mail, scheduled to depart Chennai Central  at 23 40 hrs o­n 13thOctober, 2013, was rescheduled and departed at 12 30 hrs today i.e., 14th October, 2013.

2. Train No. 12842 Chennai Central – Howrah Coromandel Express, scheduled to depart     Chennai Central  at 08 45 hrs today i.e., 14thOctober, 2013, is rescheduled to depart at 19 30 hrs today i.e., 14th October, 2013.

PASSENGER SPECIAL TRAIN

A passenger special train from Chennai Central to Asansol will leave Chennai Central at 04.30 hrs. o­n 15.10.2013 (Tuesday).  The train will run to open timings.  The composition of the train will be 1 AC 2-tier, 3 AC 3-tier, 9 Second Class Sleeper, 6 General Second Class and 2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The train will stop at Sullurupeta, Gudur, Nellore, o­ngole, Tenali, Vijayawada, Eluru, Rajamundry, Samalkot, Vishakapatnam, Vizianagram, Bobbili, Parvatipuram, Rayagada, Muniguda, Kesinga, Titlagarh, Balangir, Bargarh Road, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Purulia and Joychandi Pahar.

Indian Railways take measures to prevent misuse of ‘Izzat’ Monthly Season Ticket

In an order to prevent misuse of the ‘Izzat’ Monthly Season Ticket (Izzat MST), the Ministry of Railways has taken further measures to ensure that the scheme actually reaches the person belonging to low income category.

Under the new measures which will become effective from tomorrow i.e. 15th October 2013, following has been decided:

(i) For availing (Izzat MST) the passenger should first obtain income certificate from local government officials i.e. SDM/SDO/BDO/Tehsildar and thereafter obtain income certificates from Hon’ble Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha.

(ii) After obtaining income certificate from the government officials as mentioned above, recommendations from Hon’ble Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha and Union Ministers should be submitted to the DRMs.

(iii) On production of above mentioned income certificates and a copy of Photo identity Card cum residential proof, Izzat MST should be issued.

(iv) In case of Izzat MST issued on production of income certificate from District Magistrate or on BPL Card or any other certificate issued by Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation programme including ration cards issued to persons under ‘Antyodaya Anna Yojana”, Izzat MST will be issued directly on production of residence proof as prescribed as mentioned below. (Separate income certificate from SDM/SDO/BDO/Tehsildar shall not be required in these cases).

In case of residential proof the following may be accepted: Photo Identity Card cum residential proof like Voter Identity Card, Passport, Driving License, Ration Card, Adhaar Card, Bank Pass book from nationalised Bank with Photograph or any other Photo Identity Card cum residential proof issued with photograph by any Government in India or a Government Agency in India.

As announced in Railway Budget 2009-10, the Ministry of Railways had decided to introduce this ‘Izzat’ MST Scheme of uniformly priced Monthly Season Tickets (MSTs) at Rs. 25/- inclusive of all surcharges which will be issued upto a distance of 100 Kms to persons working in unorganised sector with monthly income not exceeding Rs. 1500/-.

TRAIN SERVICES RESUMED IN ECoR

Due to cyclone PHAILAN, train services in Howrah-Visakhapatnam section of East Coast Railway was disrupted and cancelled o­n 12th and 13th October 2013. The machinery of East Coast Railway set up for cyclone management was kept o­n functioning for the restoration of traffic and o­n continuous review of the situation; East Coast Railway has partially resumed some of the train services from the afternoon of 13th October 2013 o­nwards. In view of the above, it has been decided to run most of the trains o­n normal route in scheduled timings, rescheduling of some trains and cancel few trains o­n 14th October 2013.

              02830 Bhubaneswar-Chennai special super fast express will leave Bhubaneswar at 2100 hrs today will run with the timings of 12830 Bhubaneswar-Chennai Express.

             12882 Puri-Howrah Garib Rath Express will leave Puri at 0430 hrs o­n 15.10.2013 instead of its scheduled timings o­n 14.10.2013.

              18106 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Express will leave Bhubaneswar at 1630 hrs o­n 14.10.2013 instead of its earlier timings.

Cancellation of Trains o­n 14.10.2013:

     18411/18412 Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam-Bhubaneswar Intercity Express will remain cancelled from both the directions.

 3.Train.No.18463 Bhubaneswar - Bangalore Prasanthi Express which was scheduled to depart Bhubaneswar at 05 30 hrstoday i.e., 13th Oct, 2013 is partially cancelled between Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam. However, the train is running between Visakhapatnam and Bangalore.
III.Trains Diverted:-

       1. Train.No.12245 Howrah-Yesvantpur Duronto Express which departed Howrah at 11 00                 hrson 12th Oct, 2013 is diverted to run via., Kharagpur, Jarshuguda, Nagpur, Ballarshah,             Kazipet, Secunderabad, Vikarabad, Raichur Guntakal, Kallur, Dharmavaram.

Steps been taken by SCR to Handle Situation Arising due to “Phailin” Cyclonic Storm

With a view to handle the situation arising out of the Phailin Cyclonic Storm hitting the East Coast, South Central Railway has undertaken concerted efforts to ensure safety and minimize dislocation to train services and avoid inconvenience to passengers to the extent possible within the given conditions. Some of the focused measures undertaken are detailed below:-

1.Activated Emergency Control Rooms at Rail Nilayam, the Head Quarters of SCR and also at Vijayawada Divisional office. These emergency cells are being manned 24 X 7 by Senior Officials from various departments to closely monitor the situation and immediately initiate necessary action.

2.Special Patrolling of Railway Tracks has been pressed into service o­n Vijayawada Division especially covering the entire section between Vijayawada and Duvvada near Visakhapatnam.

3.Special Engineering Trains carrying material including boulders, quarry dust etc., have been kept ready at four locations o­n Vijayawada Division i.e. at Vijayawada, Bitragunta, Rajahmundry and Vatlur to undertake relief activity in case of need.

4.Senior Engineering Officials have been stationed at Tuni to keep a watch o­n the situation continuously and take appropriate steps as required.

5.Supervisors have been deputed to travel in locomotives of the trains running o­n Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam Section so as to keep watch alongside the Railway Tracks, particularly with regard to water level etc.

6.Watchmen have been posted to monitor the situation at Identified vulnerable locations including bridges, high banks etc., in the interest of safety of track and other installations.

7.                 20 long distance express trains which were to run o­n Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam-Bhubneshwar have been diverted to run o­n diverted route from Vijayawada via., Warangal, Ballarshah, Nagpur, Jharsuguda, Kharagpur etc., in view of the conditions prevailing in Odisha Coast.

8.With a view to help transport the stranded short distance passengers, two special Passenger Trains have been run - o­ne from Vijayawada to Anakapalle and o­ne from Vijayawada to Samalkot.

9.Help Line Numbers have been activated at 19 Railway Stations covering Vijayawada, Guntur and Secunderabad Divisions to ensure flow of information to passengers o­n train services.

10.Additional Enquiry Counters and Refund Counters have been opened at all important Stations to cater to the needs of the Passengers.

11.Required catering arrangements have been made at various stations so as to ensure supply of drinking water, food & beverages to Passengers o­n travel, o­n account of diversion of trains.

Measures taken for cyclone management over ECoR: Trains Cancelled & Diverted

The following measures have been taken for cyclone management:
(i)Measures have been taken to sanitize section between Bhadrak – Palasa by 12.30 hrs of date so that there will be no train running over the section during cyclone.
(ii)No trains from adjoining railways will be received after 10.30 hrs.
(iii)For Controlling/Regulation of trains 25 controlling stations are functional with local emergency control comprising of officers/supervisors and staff of different departments round the clock for management of emergent situation. Arrangement of food, drinking water, medical facility, relief and rescue operation at these stations have been made. Diesel powers are positioned at Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Palasa, Paradeep, Puri, Dhenkanal, Talcher, Visakhapatnam for opening communication/section clearance. For drinking water Sintex water tanks of 2000 ltr capacity have been made available and 06 nos of BTPN wagons with water have been positioned at Palasa.
(iv)Accident Relief Train/Accident Relief Medical Equipments are kept ready at their base stations except Kantabanji which is positioned at Brahmapur. Tower wagons are kept ready at the respective locations equipped with power saw.
(v)Power cars have been positioned at Brahgmapur, Palasa, Khurda Road & Bhadrak. Diesel Generator sets have been positioned at all the 25 controlling stations for lighting and signaling purposes.
(vi)One coach each has been placed at the controlling stations for shelter.

Two Special Trains between Nanded and Ajini

In order to clear extra rush of passengers on the eve of Dikshabhoomi day celebration South Central Railway will run two special trains between Nanded and Ajini as per the following schedule:-
Train No. 07629 Nanded-Ajini special train will depart Nanded at 11 30 hrs o­n 12th October, 2013 (Saturday) and arrive Ajini at 23 30 hrs o­n the same day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07630 Ajini-Nanded special train will depart Ajini at 23 00 hrs o­n 13th October 2013 (Sunday) and arrive Nanded at 09 00 hrs o­n next day.
Enroute, these trains will also stop at Purna, Basmat, Nandapur, Hingoli, Washim, Barsitakli, Akola, Murtajapur, Badnera, Chandur, Dhamangaon, Pulgaon and Wardha in both the directions.
These special trains will have 15 coaches viz., seven Sleeper Class, six General Second Class and two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake van Coaches.

Raichur-Gadwal New Railway Line, a Vital Link Towards Growth

Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Hon’ble Minister for  Railways,  will commission the 58 Km. long Raichur-Gadwal new railway line at 10:30 hrs o­n 12thOctober, 2013 at a  function to be held at Raichur Railway Station.
 He will also flag off the inaugural run of new  DEMU passenger  train services Viz., No.77690/94 Raichur-Gadwal/Kacheguda DEMU  to mark the  commissioning of the new line.
SCR is constantly  striving  to  increase the  rail net work to enhance rail travel services.  The 58 Km long Raichur-Gadwal new railway line  heralds SCR’s commitment  towards  extending  rail net work in its jurisdiction.
Salient Features of Raichur-Gadwal New Railway Line:-
Ø  Completed at a capital expenditure of Rs. 300 Cr., the 58 Km. long new Broad Gauge railway line between Raichur and Gadwal, connecting Raichur (Dt.) of Karnataka and Gadwal in Mahbub Nagar District of  Andhra Pradesh,  acquires the distinction of  being an inter-state railway line.

Ø  Raichur is situated o­n Guntakal-Mumbai main  line of Guntakal Division and Gadwal is situated o­n  Dhone-Kacheguda main line of Hyderabad Division. Thus, this new line provides  a convenient short link  between these two main line corridors.

Ø  This new line will enable the people in Mahbubnagar district to go to Raichur for catching Express trains bound for various destinations towards Mumbai,  Chennai,  Kanniyakumari etc.

Ø  265 Hectares of land was acquired for the line. Since the railway line running through a topography of plateau, it has banks with a maximum height of 14.65 m. and cuttings with a maximum depth of  8.96 m. involving  huge volume of earth works.

Ø  The Permanent way is laid with new and sturdy 52 Kg Rails and new Pre-Stressed Concrete  Sleepers with M+7 density o­n main lines, with adequate ballast cushioning as per standard specifications.

Ø  There are 186 Bridges (including Road Over Bridges and Road Under Bridges) o­n the new line section. These include 15 major bridges and 171 minor bridges. These apart, there are 14 Canal Crossings, out of  which 4  have already been completed.

Ø  There are 5 Major Road Over Bridges, out of which 3 have already been completed and 2 are under progress. There are 23 Road Under Bridges, out of which 2 are major and 21 are minor.  21 Road Under Bridges have already been completed and the balance will  be completed in due course.

Modern signaling apparatus such as Optic-Fibre Cable, Signal with LED lights, Panel Inter locking, Electronic Inter Locking, Net Work Data Loggers have been provided o­n this new line section for speedier train operations.

Raichur-Gadwal New Railway Line, a Vital Link Towards Growth

Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Hon’ble Minister for  Railways,  will commission the 58 Km. long Raichur-Gadwal new railway line at 10:30 hrs o­n 12thOctober, 2013 at a  function to be held at Raichur Railway Station.
 He will also flag off the inaugural run of new  DEMU passenger  train services Viz., No.77690/94 Raichur-Gadwal/Kacheguda DEMU  to mark the  commissioning of the new line.
SCR is constantly  striving  to  increase the  rail net work to enhance rail travel services.  The 58 Km long Raichur-Gadwal new railway line  heralds SCR’s commitment  towards  extending  rail net work in its jurisdiction.
Salient Features of Raichur-Gadwal New Railway Line:-
Ø  Completed at a capital expenditure of Rs. 300 Cr., the 58 Km. long new Broad Gauge railway line between Raichur and Gadwal, connecting Raichur (Dt.) of Karnataka and Gadwal in Mahbub Nagar District of  Andhra Pradesh,  acquires the distinction of  being an inter-state railway line.

Ø  Raichur is situated o­n Guntakal-Mumbai main  line of Guntakal Division and Gadwal is situated o­n  Dhone-Kacheguda main line of Hyderabad Division. Thus, this new line provides  a convenient short link  between these two main line corridors.

Ø  This new line will enable the people in Mahbubnagar district to go to Raichur for catching Express trains bound for various destinations towards Mumbai,  Chennai,  Kanniyakumari etc.

Ø  265 Hectares of land was acquired for the line. Since the railway line running through a topography of plateau, it has banks with a maximum height of 14.65 m. and cuttings with a maximum depth of  8.96 m. involving  huge volume of earth works.

Ø  The Permanent way is laid with new and sturdy 52 Kg Rails and new Pre-Stressed Concrete  Sleepers with M+7 density o­n main lines, with adequate ballast cushioning as per standard specifications.

Central Railway will run 4 Air-conditioned Superfast special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Hazarat Nizamuddin to clear the extra rush of passengers. The details are as under :–

02109 AC Superfast special train will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 14.30 hrs o­n 15.10.2013 & 22.10.2013 and arrive Hazarat Nizamuddin at 10.20 hrs next day.

02110 AC Superfast special train will leave Hazarat Nizamuddin at 15.50 hrs o­n 16.10.2013 & 23.10.2013 and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 11.50 hrs next day.

Halts: Nasik Road, Bhusaval, Bhopal, Jhansi, Gwalior and Agra Cantonment.

Composition: o­ne AC First Class, Three AC-2 Tier, Ten AC-3 Tier, 2 Generators cum guard’s brake vans and o­ne Pantry car.

RAILWAY PROVIDES ADDITIONAL STOPPAGE TO KATIHAR- AMRITSAR EXPRESS TRAIN AT RAJPURA STATION

For the convenience of rail passengers, Railway has decided to provide additional stoppage to the train no. 15707/15708 Katihar- Amritsar- Katihar Express at Rajpura station o­n experimental basis for six months from 15.10.2013 as per the following schedule:

The 15707 Katihar- Amritsar Express train will reach Rajpura station at 07.25 a.m., while in the return direction, the 15708 Amritsar- Katihar Express train will reach Rajpurastation at 11.18 a.m. with two minutes stoppage in both the directions from 15.10.2013.

The other features like route, composition etc. will remain as unchanged.

ECoR TO CANCEL LOCAL PASSENGER TRAINS IN VIEW OF EXPECTED CYCLONE

SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE PASSENGERS BY ECoR TO COPE WITH CYCLONE
In view of expected cyclone, East Coast Railway has geared up its resources for the convenience of the passengers. Special Relief Trains have been planned to be run to the disaster affected areas carrying relief and restoration materials. Apart from this, Extra Diesel Engines have been requisitioned in case there is a problem in running long distance Electric trains. Railway administration has also made special arrangements to facilitate the passengers during any unexpected situation.
For the above Relief and restoration work, it has been planned to regulate and cancel local passenger trains between Visakhapatnam and Bhadrak in Howrah-Chennai Main Line and to Paradeep, Puri, Angul, Talcher in branch line o­n 12th October 2013. The following trains are:
